This method provides couples, who in the past had no hope of achieving a pregnancy, with the opportunity to have healthy children. As in the case of sperm donation, which was the only treatment for couples of which the man had not spermatozoa, ovum donation is the only path towards achieving pregnancy among women who either do not have ova or whose ova are not of good quality. This category includes women with premature menopause, ovarian dysgenesis, surgically removed ovaries, as well as those who have entered the peri-menopausal or menopausal phase.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRecent Greek legislation (Laws 3089\/2002 and 3305\/2005) determined that donation of gametes or embryos by third party donors must be anonymous and with nothing provided in exchange to the donor, apart from a compensation.
