\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn cases of male subfertility, which is due either to major sperm problems (significant decrease in the number, motility and morphology of the spermatozoa), or to the absence of spermatozoa, the likelihood of fertilisation and achieving pregnancy spontaneously or through regular in vitro fertilisation are significantly lower or non-existent. If there is a problem with the sperm (oligospermia, asthenospermia, teratospermia, azoospermia), as well as in cases where previous efforts at fertilisation through regular in vitro fertilisation were not successful, micro fertilisation or intracytoplasmic sperm injection is carried out.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn this procedure, after being processed, the spermatozoa are placed on a special viscous nutrient substance in order to decrease their motility and one spermatozoon is selected, which is placed inside each ovum with the use of a special glass micro-needle under microscopic view. The spermatozoon is placed where it should normally arrive on its own but cannot, because of its own problems or because of previous failure, as mentioned, so that fertilisation may be achieved. After the placement of one spermatozoon in each ovum has been completed, the ova are placed once again within nutrients and then incubated similarly to the regular in vitro fertilisation processes.
