Basil C. Tarlatzis

Professor of Obstetrics - Gynaecology, MD, Ph.D

Basil C. Tarlatzis is a Professor Emeritus of Obstetrics-Gynaecology and Human Reproduction. He has served as the Director of the 1st Obstetrics – Gynaecology Clinic at AUTh, and held a position as 1st Council President at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
He has served as president of the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and at the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology, as well as at the International Federation of Fertility Societies. Furthermore, he is a former Alternate President of Greece’s National Authority for Medically Assisted Reproduction and the elected President of the European Board and College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
He has also received several distinctions and awards in Greece and abroad, among which are the ‘Arnaldo Bruno’ Premio Internazionale per la Ginecologia (International Gynaecology Award) from the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei (National Academy of Italy) and the ‘ASRM Service Award’ from the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. He is also responsible for the Publication of 6 Scientific Papers and is a member of 18 International and 24 National Societies.
He has participated in more than 600 International and National Conferences. His published work spans 319 scientific papers in International Scientific Journals and 85 Greek Journals, 165 scientific papers in International Conferences and 100 Greek Conferences, and he also has an H-Index of 55 with 13649 citations.
Today, Basil C. Tarlatzis serves as the chairman of the Scientific Board FIVI Fertility & IVF Center at European Interbalkan Medical Center.
